Update 28 Feb 2022:
GFS is Flickering Back On!
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the Gundaroo Film Society had very few screenings last year. So with much optimism, the GFS is launching the 2022 season on 26th March with two films: ‘Minari’ and ‘Kajillionaire’.
While yearly membership is $50, the cost for returning 2021 members in 2022 will be just $25.

Welcome to the Gundaroo Film Society—one of Australia’s oldest film societies, still running in the same venue since 1905.
All films are screened at the Gundaroo Soldier’s Memorial Hall, a historic public hall built as the Elite Skating rink in 1890.
The GFS is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. From rudimentary beginnings projecting from the back of trucks into the hall, through to reel-to-reel projectors in a fireproof projection room, the society now boasts a high-definition digital cinema projector, a drop-down screen and surround sound.
Each year, the society plans a program of films with screenings, usually two films, once a month on a Saturday night. Members are invited to bring food and drinks and tables are set up as part of the theatre. This year there will be three optional fund-raising meals served before the films. There will be three movie nights (April, July and November) where optional fund-raising meals will be served before the films.
