Community Group Description

The Memorials Sub‑Committee continues its work preserving and honouring Gundaroo’s commemorative spaces. The committee has overseen another meaningful and productive year.

Services
Our community once again gathered for two important commemorations:

Anzac Day – 5.30am
The memorial was dressed for the Dawn Service, which was well attended and deeply moving.

Remembrance Day – 11am
The memorial was prepared for the occasion, with space provided for quiet personal reflection.

Maintenance
Several working bees were held throughout the year to maintain our memorials, including ongoing care for the Ventura Bomber Memorial at Gundaroo Public School.

Grant Success
The committee was successful in securing a $10,000 Communities Grant to improve the safety and amenity of the main memorial.
The grant was approved by Wendy Tuckerman, and we extend special thanks to Tom Ramsay (RAMCAT Constructions) and Sue Farnham for their invaluable assistance and fantastic work.

Thank You
The Sub‑Committee extends heartfelt thanks to the entire community for its ongoing support. These memorials are a shared responsibility and a shared pride, and they continue to thrive because of the dedication of so many.
